There are seven major reasons why a person may fall


  • Poor awareness about his vulnerability to fall due to age especially if he has no fall history
  • His intrinsic strength, ability to balance and move is reduced
  • Poor exercise habits
  • Medication’s side effects
  • Reduced visual and auditory acuity
  • Home safety- whether he has to walk around furniture, rolled carpets, polished floor and poor lighting
